We are pleased to announce that Vasco da Gama CoLAB - Energy Storage is starting a new phase of base funding this November, part of the "Missão Interface" (Interface Mission).
The Interface Mission, co-funded by the PRR - Recovery and Resilience Plan and the European Union, aims to guarantee core public funding to strengthen the network of interface institutions, as defined in the current legal regime, which includes CoLABs (see Decree-Law No. 63/2019 of May 16 and Decree-Law No. 126-B/2021 of December 31). You can find out more at recuperarportugal.gov.pt.
This "base funding" represents 1/3 of total funding and is complemented by participation in competitive projects and equity from services and sales, making it possible for Vasco da Gama CoLAB to pursue its mission successfully.
Collaborative Laboratories (CoLAB) are entities dedicated to producing, disseminating, and transmitting knowledge by pursuing their research and innovation agendas. They are recognised by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and supported by the National Innovation Agency (ANI). Vasco da Gama CoLAB is the only CoLAB in Portugal focused on energy storage and, together with its partners, seeks to show the potential for innovation in Portugal and Europe.
