On the 14th and 15th of October, João Paulo Sousa and Jorge Pinto, representing Vasco da Gama CoLAB, attended the joint General Assembly of the two IPCEIs on Batteries, in Lyon. This event was an opportunity to review the progress of key projects shaping the future of the European battery value chain.
As an Associate Member of the IPCEI EuBatIn in Workstreams 2 (Battery Cells) and 3 (Battery Systems), Vasco da Gama CoLAB is committed to advancing innovation in energy storage, enabling the energy transition, and promoting sustainability across the sector. During the Assembly, we discussed the current state of these initiatives, their governance model, as well as the challenges and opportunities for Europe in building a robust and competitive battery industry.
A special thanks to Pedro Esteves, representing the Directorate-General for Economic Activities (DGAE), who accompanied us during this visit. We also extend our appreciation to the French Direction Générale des Entreprises, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, and the Région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes for their excellent organisation and for fostering valuable networking moments that will undoubtedly lead to new partnerships within the European battery ecosystem.
